What is each week like?
Each week, the participants read and complete that week's portions of the website, watch the DVD lesson for the week, then meet via conference call with their small group. The authors of the courses also hold regular conference calls for all participants to address any additional questions that may come up.
When are the classes held?
After registration, participants log in to the website and fill some further information including choosing a preferred meeting time. As soon as any time slot has minimum enrollment (about every 2-3 weeks), we will send an email confirming the day, time, and first meeting of your conference call.
How should I prepare?
The first week is Introduction Week so no preparation is needed.
How do I access the call?
We will send an email with exact and detailed instructions. You can use a cell phone, plain phone, or your computer. The system we use is very simple and we do offer test calls if participants would like to try it before the course starts.
Who is in the group?
The small groups consist of others who are also struggling through the aftermath created by infidelity. A moderator will lead the calls and facilitate the meeting.
What is the role of the moderator?
The role of the moderator is to welcome you, provide order to the call, facilitate the process of sharing homework, call on participants to speak, and in general, serve as liaison between the participants and ARC.
Will this be group therapy?
No. Your weekly group is more like a support group. You will share homework, personal experiences, and encouragement. Your moderator will encourage and support you and lead you through this process.
How much time should I spend on this per week?
Completing the course materials takes approximately 2 hours. In addition, you will attend a 1 1/2 hour conference call with your small group.
What level of commitment is this process?
Physically, you spend approximately 3 1/2 hours each week for 12 weeks. Emotionally, these few weeks can be uncomfortable because you are often addressing painful issues. At the same time, it can feel very rewarding and comforting as you find yourself on a solid path to recovery.
How do I communicate with other group participants?
For the duration of the twelve week course, we ask that you communicate with other participants either during your weekly group call or on your online Forum provided by ARC just for your group.
What happens after the twelve week course is complete?
You have the option of continuing on with your group in an aftercare group. This group is facilitated by a volunteer (or volunteers) from your own group and ARC provides the marriage enrichment materials.
