TalkShoe Instructions

These instructions will help you prepare for any conference calls led by AR. We are currently using www.TalkShoe.com for all our conferencing needs, so we highly recommend making an account at TalkShoe, but if you do not, you will still be able to participate by phone.

 

To join a call on TalkShoe using a **telephone**

You will need:

  • a phone
  • enough cell or long distance minutes

Making the call:

  1. Call (724) 444-7444
  2. Enter the Call ID then #
  3. Enter your PIN if prompted. If you don't have a PIN, then use 1#.

 

To join a call on TalkShoe using a **computer**

You will need:

  • A microphone
  • Headphones
  • A TalkShoe account
  • TalkShoe's free, small, downloadable program

Preparation:

  1. Go to the TalkShoe.com sign up page: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/tscmd/signup/1
  2. Go to "My TalkShoe" then to "download"


  3. Follow the instructions on the download page

 

Making the call

  1. Find and follow the link for your call (in your email, ARC small group page, etc). You will not be able to search TalkShoe to find it.
  2. Click on the "TalkShoe Live Pro! [Free]" button



  3. In the new window that is created, click the "shoe phone"




  4. Click "yes" if you have your mic and headphones connected and ready




  5. You should hear a voice "You are now Joining the Call"

 

Troubleshooting

  • If they can't hear you, try disconnecting and then immediately reconnecting using the "ShoePhone" in the lower right corner.
  • If we are expecting a large volume (over 15 people), you may be muted on entry to decrease confusion and interruptions.
  • Out of courtesy to others on the call, use headphones so there will be no echo and mute yourself if there is background noise (kids, TV, talking, pets, etc). You will not be able to hear the echo, but your fellow callers will hear themselves repeated.
