Question:

We are 9 weeks past discovery and unfortunately I spent 5 days spilling out the whole story of multiple affairs. My spouse said he had started to believe me by day 4, but when I revealed an additional affair partner on day 5, he lost all trust. I completely understand his desire for self-preservation and his hesitancy to believe me. I have been completely honest since day 5 and allowed him access to everything, even sharing more details than anyone could want. I know continued faithfulness over time is the only thing that will rebuild trust. We are currently in week 2 of EMSO and working through the topic of reaching ground zero. I’ve written my story in its entirety, but my husband is still waiting for additional revelations, more affair partners to surface, etc... I have no desire to rush him into forgiveness or trusting or healing of any kind, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to move forward and begin to rebuild if we have not agreed on ground zero.
