Question:

My husband was having an affair for 8 years. How do I look back at the memories that we made over the last 8 years which includes a large chunk of our children’s childhood, and believe they were good family memories? Right now I feel like it was all a lie.

My life

I believe that my life story was really real. My highs and lows happened in the light of day. I experienced them without having a dark shadow over me. I’m sorry that my UH wasn’t courageous enough to be an honorable person and missed out on what it was like to fully experience our life story. Sadly, his memories are horribly tainted by his dishonesty and decades of lying. His image, addictions and ego captured his life and made him a prisoner of his own life story. Just because he chose differently, doesn’t mean that my life hasn’t been real for me.

What type of affair was it?
