How can I respect my husband after what he has done to me and our family after multiple lies, betrayal, and affairs? He certainly did not "love me as his own body". If he had, he would not have done what he did. He broke our covenant of marriage. I know forgiveness plays a part in this as well. Since he is not being remorseful, not seeking counseling, not being honest, I find it extremely difficult to give him any respect as commanded by God. I continue to deal with my anger on a daily basis. I often wake up angry as soon as I see my husband. How do I respect him? Does respect have to be earned as does trust?
