Question:

My husband's sexual addiction began long before we were married and continued throughout our marriage. He has had several one night stands, prostitutes, and excessive pornography use. He described his thought life before D-Day as a constant bombarding of sexually charged thoughts that took him through a cycle leading to him acting out again and again. I had no idea about his addictions or sexual encounters. We are two years from discovery and he describes his mind having been completely wiped clean on D-Day. That he has had no desire to act out or watch porn. He has been very committed to recovery and to his faith journey so I believe he is sincere, but I have a hard time understanding how this is possible given the severity of his addiction that began in his teenage years. Is this something you have seen in other men on this journey?
