Question:

My husband had an affair 4 years ago and I found out about 3 months ago. I got tested for STD’s and am awaiting results. My husband refuses to do so because he’s had no symptoms and some things cannot be tested for in men. I am struggling with being exposed to this danger and not being given the chance to protect myself, on top of the affair pain itself. Is it unreasonable of me to ask him to get tested now? It feels important to me as a gesture to show he is taking responsibility.

Absolutely

Absolutely require this from your spouse. It’s your health that is being jeopardized. You have made the effort to get yourself tested. Our fertility and later in life health issues are being put on your shoulders for the rest of your life. This is totally selfish for the betrayer not to get tested.
