Question:

I believe my husband (who is the betrayer) is a narcissist. I didn't know what that was until recently. But he has all the character traits of a narcissist.

One of those traits is the lack of empathy that they show. I've tried to understand why he thinks it's ok to tell me to just forget about the affair. It happened a year and a half ago. Even though he has seen and talked to his AP since then the affair "supposedly" ended. But he has said to me many times to get over it. It will never end unless I let go. That is true to a point I know. But he doesn't understand the depths of my pain. He doesn't understand how one small image, or song, or blonde headed woman can send me into a dark place in my life. A time when I still vividly remember every ounce of pain that I went through.

My question is...WHY CAN'T HE AND WILL HE EVER UNDERSTAND MY PAIN?

These times seem to set me back and he doesn't understand that. Will he ever?
