Question:

Hi Rick. I am the betrayed spouse and a woman. I specify this because I seem to always fall into the "non majority" when it comes to intimacy and sexuality statistics. I am in Week 12 of EMSO and reading over and over again about how a woman is typically wired and where a typical woman's sexuality stems from. I am feeling like an odd ball here and can't find any information relevant to me. I tend to identify with the male statistics on desire over reason, thoughts about sex, where my sexuality stems from, initiating sexual activity, etc. I actually initiated sex with my unfaithful husband a week post DDay. What's wrong with me? I've only had 3 sexual partners in my life & my first time was in a loving relationship & a very positive experience. The only thing I can fathom is that my unfaithful spouse is emotionally absent (intimacy anorexic) and has been almost our entire relationship. So have I developed a heightened sexuality over the years just subconsciously trying to connect somehow? The few times we do have sex, it's amazing! So maybe I'm just looking for that positive connection with him? Or is it possible I'm just part of the "other" statistics of women and am wired differently for some reason? Is there any material surrounding the flip side of the female coin where I can gain some reassurance that I’m not totally abnormal? It's a weird situation I guess. Thanks for your help.
