Question
How do I free my mind of re-living D-day reminders every month?
My D-days were on the 6th and 18th of December 2015 and on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of January 2016. I cannot get those dates out of my head -- so every month since on those dates, it's like recurring D-days. I want to forget these dates as significant so I don't have to relive the trauma on these days every month. I also get anxious on the days leading up to them.
In addition to those dates, there are also the 7 dates in my head of when my husband cheated on me, 5 dates when he tried to cheat on me but failed, and all those dates drive me crazy too, every month. (There were six different people.)
What can I do to forget the dates and what can my husband do to help? I am going to be starting EMDR.
