Question:

It has been 14 months since the second disclosure of all the affairs my husband had over 16 years of our 21 year marriage. I grieved so hard for at least a year and we went through one program which helped us connect and then I found Affair Recovery. However, March 5 I was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. I’m still having trouble with trust and wasn’t able to finish Harboring Hope. I feel I haven’t dealt with my trust and forgiving because of the leukemia. I firmly believe the trauma from my husband’s betrayal caused the leukemia. He still lies to me and has said he doesn’t think we need to renew our vows, even though it’s important to me, because he doesn’t want to me stress and cause the cancer to grow faster. How do I deal with this?
