Question:

Prior to meeting my significant other, I was a sex addict for several years. Through healing, I was able to re-create my new me, heal my wounds, and find joy and love in my life and current relationship, free of my addiction. You would think that having this be my personal first-hand experience, I would have recognized sexual addictive behaviors with my spouse, but I didn't. He has actively pursued SAA, SA, CSAT therapy, reads every book suggested, willing to do whatever it takes to rebuild our relationship, support me, and heal himself. My biggest struggle is the intrusive thoughts and comparisons to his personal collection of thousands of images. My physical inadequacy is now at its all-time low, even lower than at the heart of my addiction time, because this is someone, I should feel safe and vulnerable with - the person I love. I’m in Harboring Hope and have my own therapist - who is fantastic. I can't seem to see a future with him due to the fear of being intimate with him, naked, or even going to the beach. I am currently taking it one day at a time. I don't feel insecure or inadequate in general, only with him. What suggestions do you have in re-healing my self-image insecurities when it comes to rebuilding it with him?
