Question:

My wife's infidelities all involved heavy alcohol use. She has been in recovery and sober for over 100 days now, but I am having a hard time fully coming to terms with her responsibility for her choices. Could you talk about alcoholic affairs and how they differ from other types of affairs? What is she responsible for and what is just a result of the alcohol? She says she never wanted to have sex with any of these men and felt it was the price she had to pay for the attention they gave her. One man just made her a sandwich and let her sleep on the couch…. Now that she is home she asked me to move out to work on my anger and protect her sobriety. This makes me feel abandoned and rejected and angry and foolish for staying during the time she was drinking and acting out. Do you have any specific advice for how to deal with this?
