Question:

My husband turned an inappropriate hidden friendship in to a physical affair one night after we argued and I left the house for us to cool off. I called an hour after I left to tell him I would come home to work out the issues we was arguing about, he reassured me we was ok, he loved me, and only wanted me. He said we should both get some sleep and we would work through it the next day. I was crying and upset but said ok. He was at his affair partners home when I called. He confessed after because of his guilt, but blamed me for leaving the house to calm down and says we had “broken up”. He also said that he knew his actions would hurt me but didn’t care about hurting me. He had the excuse of us being “broken up” so I would have to just get over it. How do I forget his disrespect and not caring about my feelings? I love him but keep asking myself why I would want to be in a relationship. My self respect is fighting my desire for recovery.
