Question:

My husband and I have been together for 16 years. My husband had multiple emotional affairs, one of them turned physical. As far as I know, his infidelity lasted for 5 weeks. D-day was a little over 2 months ago. My husband and I are currently in EMSO Week 5. We are also both doing individual counseling: I started right after D-Day, he started two weeks ago. Even with all of this support, my husband is still minimizing his actions, blaming me, and showing little understanding for my pain. He gets angry whenever I try to talk about anything affair related, and he often withdraws. I can tell he's dealing with a lot of shame. I am trying to heal and get through my pain, but it's hard since I feel abandoned by him in the process. It's been so painful for me and I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. How long until my husband will stop focusing on himself and start showing up for me?
