Question:

My wife had a sexual affair in 1993 with her first affair partner, a second affair in 2007 with a different person, and a third affair with the first affair partner again in 2024 after he contacted her 31 years later. He called her at our office and said, “You remember me.” He told her a lame story about losing his father and a friend. She felt sorry for him and was also curious as to what he was up to. The call was 20 minutes and he asked at the end if he could call again. Without hesitation, my wife gladly said “yes”. It is so incredibly simple and easy for the AP to re-enter her life. She clearly has no self control, no boundaries, no kill switch. Her selfish thinking pattern is simple, if it feels good or she likes it, then do it. How will I ever feel safe with someone who has no control over themselves and runs on feelings and emotions regardless of outcome? There is no safety for me. I have lived this three times and will not blindly believe it will not happen again especially when its so incredibly easy for her to let someone in. Saying, I will not do it again is a worthless statement in my mind. She has no reason as to the WHY she did this three times other than she liked it or it felt good or I liked the attention etc. All selfish likes. We are on week 6 of EMS Online and I am not feeling safer.
