Question
My husband says he made up his mind about getting divorced 7 weeks after the final D Day. He told his parents at 9 weeks. It is now three months since D Day. He agreed to sell the house and discuss who will have our dog and cat. He only wants to discuss logistics, not feelings. He says he doesn't trust me and doesn't want to trust me again. He says he doesn't trust that I will 'allow' us to get divorced. I have been honest with him and told him I will sign anything and make it as easy as possible for him. I told him I understand why he isn't able to trust me. He told me to stop updating him on my whereabouts, what I'm doing, who I'm with. I'm so lost. I don't know how else to rebuild trust if I can't be transparent with him or navigate emotional conversations. He told me to stop trying to say things to change his mind. I will respect that boundary and hope in private. But I feel so hopeless now. He sounds angry but not as much as before. He closes his eyes when I start to sound emotional, which I have been better at stopping the flood lately. He says he may be be open to finding closure after the divorce is finalized, but only maybe. I wish we could get to ground zero before then.
