Question
We are almost done with EMS Online and I have felt that my husband has put in real effort towards the course and I have seen remorse from him alongside him truly showing empathy and helping me through my triggers. However, I get the underlining fear that he feels like his part is done because of the EMS and that we can move on with life afterwards. I have been doing individual therapy for myself and have told him that, in order for me to feel safe going forward, that he should see a therapist or have an accountability partner, someone to talk to. He has always tended to isolate himself and often goes quiet when I ask this of him. At one point he said no, he would not see a therapist. His affair was emotional, physical and he even allowed the affair partner to text me from his phone horrible degrading messages, which is extremely concerning to me. I don't know if I will feel totally comfortable in this marriage, going forward, if he doesn't seek individual counseling on why he betrayed me and how he was capable of doing such emotional harm to me.
