Question:

I am a betrayed spouse 16 months out from the final D-day. Some back ground the first D-day was my husband announcing he wanted a divorce, D-day number 2 was me discovering he was having an affair that had been going on for about 6 months, the final D-day was his confession that this was not his first affair, and it was his third in the course of our 25 year relationship. We have done EMS Online and are moving into married for life. While things are more stable in our relationship now then they have been in a really long time I still feel an underlying uneasiness. Some days are worse than others and those days it is defiantly anxiety that is my major emotion. But even on the good days I feel an undercurrent of uneasiness almost like I am still waiting on another shoe to drop. I miss and actually grieve the loss of the feeling of security that I once had. My husband tries very hard to reassure me and support me and it does calm some of the anxiety. However nothing seems to change that underlying feeling of uneasiness. I am just wondering is this normal? If so, how long does it take to overcome feeling this way? Is there anything I or my husband can do that may help? I welcome anything that Rick has to say and would also value comments from others that have been here, done this, and now feel better. Thank you for any and all information.
