Question:

My husband and I have been married 23 years. In the first 8 years of our marriage, my husband had approximately 15 acts of infidelity, all being unprotected sex, one night stands, mostly being with coworkers. However, two of the occasions were with prostitutes. He says it stopped 15 years ago and the last time he did it he knew it would be the last time. He also says that pornography was never involved. On all but two of the incidents, alcohol use was involved .He has taken a polygraph and passed that he has revealed everything, however only after failing it once and then trickling the truth out over the course of a week.. I just read the latest article from the Hope Now email-part 3- Why did he cheat-is it an addiction? To me he meets the 4 C's mentioned in the article. He is very adamant that it wasn't sex addiction and says his therapist gave him a test to prove it wasn't. It is important for me to know the "why" and address the problem. To me it seems like sex addiction or narcissism, both of which I feel it is important for me to know. What are your thoughts and how should we precede if the issue is at a standstill?
