Question

We have been married 31 years and we are five months past discovery of my husbands three-year affair. The affair was discovered via text messages so sometimes I still feel in shock. He is doing all he needs to do to recover but on top of all this he also has a sex addiction he’s never really dealt with. I knew going into our marriage but after years of trying to be his person my self esteem was destroyed and I told him he had to get help but learned in our d-day that he never really had. So much to deal with I feel I’ll never be able to trust and the sadness won’t stop.

What type of affair was it?
