Question:

The words he spoke were lies about our marriage and about my health. He was confessing his feelings for her and stating how miserable he was with me. He’s told me he didn’t mean those things and never planned to leave me and wants to stay married. But my mind has no peace on what would make him say those things, he is defensive when I ask him about the affair that I discovered 4/30/19 and says he was caught up in sin but has repented. He says he loves me and is sorry. But because of his actions and words I question his character and integrity. Who is he when he thinks no one is watching or listening, what does he really feel about me, can I trust and believe him? All of these thoughts are not healthy for my recovery; I no longer want to be emotionally controlled by his choice to be irresponsible with his words, heart and body.
