Q&A Is The EMS Online Course Safe for Me?

After 20 years together we poorly discussed monogamy versus non-monogamy. It was a NO for me. I was heartbroken and terrified it would be the end of us. He felt trapped and controlled, but wanted to stay married. One night, 3 years ago, we recklessly partied hard with my best friend of 30 years and her husband. My husband initiated sexual interactions with me, my friend, and her husband joined in. But I was completely incapacitated from the substances we just dosed. My husband raped me and committed adultery in the same hour and at the same time. For 6 months following there were various types of infidelities discovered and 4 more non consensual sexual interactions. The overwhelm of trauma I experienced during that time is gut wrenching to say the least. I discovered Affair Recovery and began using free resources while waiting for my husband to decide to take EMS. I recently moved out at which time my husband met my request and signed us up for this course. I have since realized that rape trauma response and betrayal trauma of infidelity are so similar. I am scared of being taken advantage of during these course practices. I do have a trauma informed therapist. I see her regularly and often. I plan to share the weekly EMS lessons with her for therapy work alongside my current treatment.
