Question

I'm wondering if it is common for some sex addicts to say that they cannot have sexual intimacy with their spouses. For me, I am trying to separate the awful compulsive behavior that I used to have and see sexual intimacy with a pure outlook with my partner. We are not married yet, but we would like to make that happen. I’m just having issues because I’m afraid about how my past behavior will affect how I see what true intimacy is supposed to be. Are there any resources, guidance, or suggestions on how to resolve this fear? Any help would be appreciated.
