Question:

Hi Rick. I'm the unfaithful spouse. My wife and I have been in recovery for three months today, and it has been tough. Initially, there seemed to be some progress made, and I guess things have gone forward in a cyclical motion. At times there are a few days with some hope. Those days will then be followed by several days of no hope at all, especially for her. Over the last 2-3 weeks, my wife has several times stated clearly that she does not have any feelings for me anymore and it seems to me that she has no willingness to even play with the idea of having a loving marriage with me. She says she is here only because of the children. She knows herself well and will never be able to get over what I did. Is this kind of a mindset usually temporary or is one able to know for sure that they will always be in a loveless marriage already three months into recovery? I guess I'm asking this question in order to find a glimmer of hope. Thank you.
