Question:

I am trying to heal from my wife's affairs. The last disclosure of her being physically intimate with the AP was August 4, 2025. The intrusive thoughts in my head are around this situation. It is my biggest pain point. I am tired of the intrusive thoughts and want to move forward for myself. I don't want to be a victim and the thought of how much airtime this gets is very frustrating. I don't know exactly how to battle these thoughts effectively throughout the day. They are the worst at night when I have nothing to distract me from them. My wife does not know what to do other than say sorry, which does little to nothing for me. I feel at time mostly pain and hurt and this is from her being with someone else. At times I do not want to be with her physically. I am trying to grieve this by letting the pain out and not trying to keep anything inside. I don't know the best way to grieve. I don't know what I need from my wife to feel better. I feel like I am on my own to just deal with it. Is there anything the wayward spouse can say or do that has been effective in helping the betrayed spouse feel better?
