Question:

My husband is saying he is sorry for what he did, wants to do ANYTHING to repair the marriage for as long as it takes and that he loves me. However he is not working on discovering the issues and reasons that led him into an affair. He keeps blaming the circumstance he was in. This makes me feel unsafe because circumstances can't always be controlled and if he doesn't dig away at the core issues he'll respond the same way in a similar circumstance again. How do I ask him to start working on that without him getting defensive or feeling like I'm telling him what to do?
