Question:

I have a question that involves an incident that because I was incapacitated, mentally and physically at the time, by a drug I take to treat a neurological disease; and although I was not seriously injured I know it would be called abuse. Last night we had said good night and she started ruminating about my infidelity and quickly became flooded and flew into a rage. I honestly believe had there been a knife laying on the nightstand she would have used. It wasn't just resentment I saw in her eyes but also hatred. I have been committed to doing the EMS Online, comforting her when she will allow me, answering her questions, and trying to apply many of your other tips to help us get through this but things just continued to intensify. I know you keep saying I need to keep being honest when I answered her question, but I think there are some things she wished she didn't know because she cannot get them out of her head and knowing them torments her. We are seeing a marriage counselor and she is seeing 2 therapists, one for EMDR for the past six weeks. What happened last night was a big setback for me, although I will honor my commitment to continue with the program; however if things continue as they are I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that our marriage will survive, it will end up with the 15% that don't. I'm reaching out to you in the hope that there is something I am missing or that you can share that will help.
