Q&A Does my Spouse Really Want to Save the Marriage?

Question

My husband continually apologizes for what he’s done and says he wants to help me heal and move on to save our marriage. But he won’t do any work. He won’t do a couple’s retreat or online course. He won’t see a counselor, and he doesn’t want to tell anyone about what happened because he doesn’t want to “drag his and our name through the mud.” Does this mean he really doesn’t want to do what it takes to save the marriage? What should I do?
