Question:

My wife just decided to cut ties with her affair partner about 3 days ago. There was some suspicion that the affair partner had another girl in the mix besides my wife. Now, my wife's main focus has been trying to find out if her affair partner was, indeed "cheating" on her. She has committed to counseling, but is very adamant that she will never love me again, and will never even contemplate a physical relationship. All of her energy is focused on discovering whether the affair partner was "faithful" to her. She has even teamed up with the affair partner's wife to do this. I cannot believe this is healthy behavior if she truly wants to do the right thing. Since breaking up with the affair partner, she has been very, very hurtful in her words to me about our future (expected), and seems to be trying to push me into divorcing her. She had always been a more resentful person, and I find myself truly doubting God's ability to lead her back to me. How on earth do I enforce boundaries during this time without pushing her back to the affair partner?
