Question:

We are 4 months post D-Day and my husband is in a stage 2 affair (limerent) with an old friend from high school. We separated about 5 weeks after D-Day and the fourth time he told me he broke it off but hadn't. Since then, we have been in contact daily. I rely on God's guidance for my steps in dealing with my unfaithful husband. My husband has still not cut off contact with his AP, but it seems as if the limerence is wearing off and there are cracks in their relationship. My hope and goal is reconciliation, but there is a part of me that wonders if I am crazy for wanting to continue our relationship. I still love him deeply, but I do not want to ever again feel like I am second choice or runner-up. Why do we choose to stay with someone who has wounded us so deeply?
