Question:

My husband of 20 years has compulsive behavior with lust and masturbation. After D-Day 10 years ago, he committed and followed through with finding accountability. Since then he has relapsed four or five times and lied repeatedly to cover himself. In August, on an accountability report, I found an image from my phone's photo gallery that had been accessed regularly. This picture was of my sister. It was not a sexual image. I can't get the image out of my head! I confronted him and he was overcome with shame and expected me to leave him. He confessed to having access to my photo gallery on his own phone because we share the same account. He had been lying again for over a year and masturbating to images of my sisters, pornography on tv, and other images, all the time leading me to believe we were healing and recovering our marriage yet again. I am best friends with my sisters and this hurt me deeply on multiple levels. Now even seeing the images or thinking of them has become a trigger for me. Please help! Will I ever be able to reconcile with my husband and maintain a close relationship with my sisters? He is currently in weekly counseling, attended a workshop for sexual addiction, and has a weekly meeting with a group of men as accountability. He's never had so much help before.
