Question:

How can we find an appropriate counselor that will work with my husband and also with me? We have been to four "couples" counselors over the last four years and all have done more harm than good. We are a little over four years from the initial discovery of multiple sexual and emotional affairs/obsessions and after years of lies and further admissions - now about six months out from the last admission of sexual infidelity going back 22 years (we've been married almost 32 years). I know he still hasn't told me everything. We are finishing week 13 of EMSO and I still feel very stuck. We live in a very small town and I don't know how to find someone who can really help us on a professional level without having to drive so far that it's a deterrent. Do you have any advice?
