My husband is a porn addict and has been into prostitution and strip clubs for over six years. He seems regretful and has made a commitment to stay clean. He is away from porn and other sexually deviant behaviors since the discovery. We are still struggling with multiple issues like communication, emotional connect, intimacy. What should be the response of the wives of sex/porn addicts when the husband wants to have sex? Should sex addicts completely stay away from sex, including healthy sex with their wives, to recover? If the spouse indulges in frequent sex with a sex addict, are they fueling the addiction? In general, would like to know how should one respond to the sex initiation from a sex addict, when emotional connect is missing.
