Question:

My husband was in a five year affair with a single women younger then him by 5 years. There were multiple disclosures and majority of the information I found out by digging for it. He met her at her place about once a week and they shared dinner together three times a year. He gave her small gifts at Christmas. He says he never gave her money or jewellry. There was 1 over night trip to her hometown. There was at least one booking for hotel which was cancelled. I found out because I found the email. Breaking off the affair took about nine months. After the break up he did not contact her that I know of but he made two phone calls to her after four months. He insists that he does not remember making those calls and if he did he hung up. He insists the affair was only for sex but what I saw does not fit the story he is telling me. How could a sexual relationship go on with a same person and not lose interest in it. Not knowing what this relationship was worries me that he could relapse and because he is so good at hiding it he could be still seeing her. This makes it more difficult because he said he has no feelings for me. When I pushed him he said he has deeper feelings for me. Was this an emotional affair?
