Question:

My husband has been in a 16 month limerent affair. He does not recognize it as such. He has asked for a divorce on more than one occasion during this time and also has asked for reconciliation on more than one occasion. Most recently he has decided that he wants to proceed with the divorce. He has been around his married affair partner’s children quite a bit and our children know who the AP is. He has made it clear that he intends to pursue this relationship immediately. I am very concerned about him introducing her to our children too quickly. They are already aware that he is “in love” with someone else, as he has told them so, and I suspect they know more than that. We have also experienced a lot of physical and financial consequences as a result of this affair, including loss of a job and home. Our children are very young and are already really confused and hurt. What do you recommend as a timeline?
