Question: 

We're still in recovery. The AP actually lives in the neighborhood and we have mutual friends. I met her during the affair twice - once in the early stages and again shortly before my husband broke off contact. How do I handle it if we run into each other in public? What if we are all unknowingly invited to the same social gathering?

Thank you for answering this question. I had reoccurring nightmares I would run into the AP at the grocery store and express this to my husband. Months after bringing this up in counseling, we did run into the AP in the parking lot of the grocery store, and my husband panicked and we ran. How can I move beyond the missed opportunity? I am struggling with wanting to have a second opportunity to be displayed as more important and not allow her to have power over my life.
