While my husband was having an affair with a woman from work, we attended a Christmas party. He chose seats exactly opposite his AP and her live-in boyfriend. I know she was very uncomfortable and I couldn't understand why she refused to look at me all night. Why would he choose to sit across from her? Was he basking in the thought that he had the heart of two women? Did he just want to be close to both of us? Was there some kind of thrill at the secrecy of all of it? I would think that would be the last place you would want to sit.
