Question:

I’m confused, because my wife accused me of having an affair and talking to a past girlfriend. Yes it was wrong for me to go to someone from years ago, but there was nothing sexual at all, despite my wives insistence. Also note that during the time she was accusing me of this, she was herself in her SECOND Affair. So help me understand why I should feel bad? I know I shouldn't have talked to that girl and yes I should have been sure she was off Facebook but honestly she was no one of significance. I am concerned that this is being used as a scapegoat to take away from the affairs that my wife had and put all the blame on me. I don’t know but I am sick and tired of what I did being made out to be something it was NOT. I will accept my responsibility but I keep coming back to the fact that it was not sexual.

What is definition of infidelity?

"Webster:      a : unfaithfulness to a moral obligation : disloyalty

b : the act or fact of having a romantic or sexual relationship with someone   other than one's husband, wife, or partner"

Based on Webster’s definition of infidelity; was I Unfaithful? Did I have sex with someone else?  NO. So why do I feel like I have to act like I did? Is it maybe because she has made me feel this way to cover up her own faults? Yes Jesus said thoughts can lead to sin, but isn’t it consistent that if you take hold of those thoughts and stop that you have not sinned? What am I missing?
