Question:

My husband and I complete the EMS weekend in Dec, completed Beyond EMS with our group and I am now in Harboring Hope, just completed week 2. I am needing help! Is there an Infidelity specialist counselor that you could recommend in the Kansas City, KS area? Or do any of you offer counseling online or through FaceTime, etc? It has been six years since discovery and our road has been so messed up because I was pregnant, received detrimental counseling advice during the first year and I was too afraid to make any decisions pregnant with two other small children. My husband finally ended the affair a year later by recommitting his life to God and writing a 7 page confession letter (that I didn’t ask for). Ever since it’s been extremely difficult to address recovery without defensiveness and frustration from my spouse because he’s forgiven and he’s given his remorse, guilt, all emotions to God. EMS weekend helped tremendously but we are back to the same cycle, unsafe environment. But it’s not the affairs that cause so much pain and anger it’s his inability to show any type of emotion except zombie robot or frustration and anger. I’ve been patient and I understand he’s sick of talking about it but I need remorse. I need to feel accepted if I get triggered because STDs cape up on homework and we were never tested. After watching so many hours of AR videos I know I’ve enabled his behavior and I’ve set a boundary and asked him to move out until I’ve finished my HH course because I don’t trust myself around him and it’s impacting my health, my sleep, my sanity. Enough is enough and I need help! My heart breaks for him and I wish he would get help or so Hope for Healing but no matter how much I ask or try to put my foot down it just doesn’t work.
