Question:

Hi Rick.

I feel so conflicted about my wife. We are 8 months out from DDay 1. We had a decent marriage before and an analogy I think of now is that our marriage was a scale. It had on one side good things about her and on the other side things not so good. Before the affair the good things outweighed the bad. So now, after her affair, leaving me for another man, the not so good side far outweighs the good side. I ask myself often why I should want to stay with someone capable of such selfishness and total disregard for others. She has learned a lot since this and feels so remorseful and regretful for her purposeful actions. She is so very sorry. I truly believe that, but now that history is part of her past and it goes on the scale. It's difficult for me to act like that was some other person because it was her. Why should I choose to stay with her?
