Question:

My husband’s affair ended a year ago. We had a lot of problems in our marriage before his affair (we had alot of communication and sexual problems), but I always thought things would get better over time. Now, it feels like things never will get better. We have been married for 8 years and have a 2 year old daughter. But, now I truly feel like I am just "settling" and he has said he feels that way sometimes too. I feel like we both are staying married because we both love our daughter so much and don't want to split up our family. We are in counseling and it has helped some. But, now I feel like we are just roommates just "getting by". It’s so sad and I don't want my daughter to see this type of marriage. I don't want to give up but I also hate living like this. I have told my husband that for me to stay in our marriage; we cannot go back to a crappy marriage. But, he says he actually wants to go back to the way things were. Do you think it is possible for us to find love again? Like the kind we had when dating? What are some things we can do to help us get to that place? Or should I just throw in the towel since he says he wants to go back to our old marriage?
