Question:

We just attended EMS Weekend. I wish all betrayals fit the mold with true remorse effort by both spouses etc. But the truth is there are always outliers. Some situations aren't going to make it. My spouses sex addiction, other deceptions, and mental health issues are more evident than ever. We are probably not going to make it. I'll grieve and eventually grow through the pain. God in his infinite wisdom has a plan for me and our disabled daughter.

I'm devastated but finally facing the reality of his addiction. Thank you for what you all do at AR. Rick you and your team are amazing! The weekend for me was like coming upon a cool clear stream in the dry hot desert. my heart mind and soul were quenched. I'm fortunate as a follower of Christ and also as a therapist to know what to do next.

My question is this: for the small percentage of outliers like us who go to the program only to go home to face their spouse's addiction and psychological abuse alone, could there be a portion of the weekend that sifts these couples out of the small groups sooner to give the hurting spouse more tools for recovery face to face? Psychologically abusive spouses cause damage on every level.
