Question:

In our case, I found myself going from relatively good health to suddenly being diagnosed with stage IV cancer that was deemed “incurable”. I remained optimistic and engaged with my spouse and family during outpatient treatments and had a successful outcome. It was only after we had weathered that storm together and everything was looking up that my wife had her affair. Do you have any insights as to this being a contributing factor in her decision to detach emotionally and stray...but only when the danger had past?
