Question:

We went through a hysterical bonding phase in the beginning, and it was great, but I know now that I was trying to reclaim him. Now 6 months later, whenever I try to be sexually intimate with him, images of him with the affair partner take over my mind. If I manage to get through it, I am crying afterward. He has been so understanding and he comforts me in my pain. But at this point he is very hesitant to move past cuddling and hand holding, which is leading me to feel sexually rejected. He has done everything to prove to me that he is a safe person now, but these thoughts and images are taking me over. I feel like we are trapped in this cycle. How do we get back this part of our intimacy? Any book suggestions are welcome as well.
