Question:

6 months ago, I discovered that my apparently very loving and caring husband of 12 years has been soliciting prostitutes for about five years and has been watching porn since a very young age. He has been mostly acting out when away from us due to work. His behavior peaked just before discovery when he was overseas for four months for work. During this time he also started online dating and started drinking and hitting on women in pubs trying to take them to bed. Once I almost caught him but he deceitfully convinced me otherwise by swearing upon the children and crying in my feet and apologized for the “misunderstanding,” that had caused me such intense pain. He started again only after a week, seeing four women in a week, after which I caught him crystal clear. Since then he claims and seems to be totally clean and very regretful and wants to salvage the marriage. My question is if he is an addict? Because all his acts were very carefully planned and calculated. He would go for months without doing anything if the circumstances weren’t “favorable,” also he just went cold turkey this time.
