Question:

Hi Leslie and John, We have completed emso, HH and H4H. My husband has also being sober and in AA since the last dday 6 months ago. Of the many times that my husband cheated on me with one night stands, he claims that he cannot remember any of the conversations, topics, etc that happened with the women. He claims he can't recall how the discussion went from hanging out at a party or an event, to going home with them. I asked him how if transpired, what flirtatious things he or she said to each other, and how the conversation went from talking to physical cheating in a night. He says he can't remember a single flirtatious thing he said, and that it "just happened". I find this ridiculous and hard to believe. These were not random people, they were friends, acquaintances and coworkers. Really? You can't recall a single word that went between you two? What do you think?

Memory

My husband genuinely can’t remember much and I think it’s because his brain is protecting himself by shutting it out - my daughter is the same - she can block all unpleasant memories- it may be a case that he doesn’t want to remember so he can’t - and drink is also a factor, so frustrating as it is you’re probably going to have to let it go
