Question:

It's been 24 months since my wife discovered my affair, 10 months since I found out about her affairs, and 9 months since EMS Weekend. I'm in recovery for sex addiction, a 12 step group, a dialectic behavior therapy group, and an SAA group. On top of all that, I recently lost my job. I continue to work on my personal recovery path but I'm having difficulty dealing with the pain of my wife's affair, the pain that I caused her with my affair, and the loss of a job. I share my intrusive thoughts and she gets upset saying "here I am trying to forget and you keep bringing it up". There is so much guilt, shame, and anger I hear from her and very little empathy or understanding. What am I doing wrong? How can I help?
