It’s been 3 years since disclosure. We started healing work initially and spent a few months on it before it kind of drifted off as life started happening. Moving, pregnancy, birth of a difficult child, buying our first home. I’m a betrayed male, I go through waves of happy then sad over the years usually triggered by intrusive thoughts or images of the acts which always steals the happiness away right when I’m feeling good. It causes me to be afraid to let myself even be happy lately. Like stay away from happiness cause it’ll just be stolen again. We are currently doing EMS Online and trauma therapy. What I want to know is, how do I let myself be happy again? Is this normal when both partners are working hard at making the relationship safe and staying together?
