While living this new reality is incredibly surreal and painful I am left wondering if we were ever compatible. Certainly there were issues pre-affair, and we avoided them which has ultimately lead us to this place. But now I am left questioning if there was an ‘us’. How do you begin to sift through the wreckage after an affair and determine the value of what was lost? Sure there is love, but in the wake of this is that to be valued over compatibility?
